Brief Church History

First Baptist Church can look back at almost 150 years of ministry. It is one of the oldest established churches in Webster City, and also one of the oldest Baptist churches in north central Iowa.

In 1874 the first building was constructed, located on the site of the present building at the corner of Willson and Division. After several building projects and remodelings, the current sanctuary saw its first service on August 12, 1973.

Ministers

From this congregation, six people have answered the call to full time Christian ministry over the years.

All members of the church strive to live as ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Currently, the church is pastored by Rev. David R. Doerr, who came to us in August of 2007.
